Live Like The Lion - The King
A pregnant lioness, while pouncing upon a flock of sheep, suddenly gave birth to a cub and died, leaving its little one in the midst of sheep. Growing among the grass-eaters, the lion cub imagined itself to be a lamb, lived on grass, drank water or at the most milk; and started fearing even the dogs and the big sheep.
One day another lion attacked the herd and saw the young lion running away and hiding with fear. It somehow caught it and said "you're eating grass and getting frightened like the sheep. You are a disgrace to the race of lions. Come on eat this piece of meat, roar like me and be the king of the jungle". The young one did not believe the big lion. Then the lion forcibly took it to a nearby pond and roared "look at your reflection and realize that you're a lion, not a lamb". The cub then believed the lion and thereafter started living like a lion, the king of the forest.
Religious and scriptures are like the grown up lion. Like the cub we feel weak and meek and lack the knack and confidence to face life. At every stage we feel we're weaker, and are frightened, feel shy and try to run away.
Tell yourself "come up o lion, and shake off the delusion that you're a sheep. You're the master of your mind. " As said by Thomas Kempis "Be worldly free and be the master of yourself. Let all things be under and not you under them. Be the lord and ruler of your actions, not a slave or a bondsman"
Recite Kalam's words, "Each individual on this beautiful planet is created by God to fulfill a particular role. All these missiles and rockets are Gods work through a small person called kalam, in order to tell the several million- mass of India, to never fell small or helpless. We all are born with divine fire in us. Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness".
